Our Broadbent Road site in Derker is a pupil referral unit that provides Day 6 provision for children and young people of secondary school age who have been permanently excluded. There is provision for short term placement with preparation to reintegrate to mainstream settings as well as longer term placements to support suitable post-16 destinations.

At this site we are piloting an Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce (APST). The APST is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals working together to:

• Improve pupils’ attendance

• Reduce the risk of pupils becoming NEET

• Improve pupils’ mental health and wellbeing

• Reduce the risk of being involved in serious youth violence

Pupils can work with a range of specialists depending on the priority of their needs. Pupils are referred to the team through the site staff at Broadbent Road.
