Governing Body

The Governing Body is in place to provide support, challenge and to oversee the work of the school. In addition to this, the Governing Body plays an important role in key strategic decision making.

The Governing Body convenes as a full management board, three times a year (once a term).

In addition to the above, the Governing Body have established the following committees:

  • Curriculum, Standards & Behaviour Committee

  • HR, Premises and Financial Analysis Committee

 

These committees also meet three times a year.

 

The Governing Body monitors the progress of the School Development Plan and works with the Head Teacher in managing the school’s budget and resources.

Our 2 Local Authority members are now joint Chairs of the Governing Board as a temporary measure until a suitable Chair has been appointed at which point they will revert back to LA Governors.

The Governing Body have adopted the policies below:

 

The code of conduct for the Governing Body, sets out the expectations and commitment required from school governors, associate members, and committee members, in order for the Governing Body to carry out it's work within the school and the community.

The visiting policy and guide encourages members of the Governing Body to carry out at least one visit per academic year to Kingsland School. The appendix A is completed for each visit, and returned to the business manager, who retains a copy.
